My Ox Is Broken

Ox Notes: March 4, 2010

The subject of today's Ox Notes is Ox Notes itself. After today, Ox Notes is shifting from regular posts on Tuesdays and Thursdays to more sporadic postings so that I can focus on other projects.

I'll still post here at My Ox Is Broken when the mood strikes and as news crops up closer to the premiere of Dancing with the Stars 10. I mean, is there any chance the celebs make it through preseason rehearsals without a serious injury?

In the meantime, follow me on Twitter (http://twitter.com/kathyfgibson), where I'll still be posting frequently. (Even if you have no desire to post, it's worth getting a Twitter account these days, just to read what others are writing!) I also write weekly Bollywood movie reviews for Access Bollywood (http://accessbollywood.net).

Here are a few sites I recommend for entertainment news:

  • Pure DwtS -- an excellent catalog of Dancing with the Stars news and commentary

  • People -- the best of the celebrity mags, especially their TV Watch blog

  • EW -- good for general TV news and home of Jeff Probst's Survivor blog, updated on Friday mornings

  • Reality Blurred -- a great site for reality TV news

  • The Watcher -- my favorite TV critic

Thanks for all of your comments and contributions during Ox Notes' three-year run. Talk to you soon!

Glad to see you appreciate the work of the people behind Pure DWTS. Always nice to be appreciated by someone that we respect and enjoy reading as well. If you ever really want to rant about something on DWTS, feel free to send me a note and we'd be happy to post it as a guest post on Pure DWTS.

Oh, no -- both you AND Samantha bowing out of DWTS the very same season?! Quick, the smelling salts.
Seriously, Kathy, I've really enjoyed this website of yours. I know it has been a lot of work to keep it going and fresh and you've done a great job of it. Tthe insights and snark, too offered over here made it one of my favorites. MOIB was a great place to chat with far-flung folks that seemed to all share a common interest in sequins, sparkles, Samantha H, and other such trivial nonesense. (and for me, a way not to waste time on the actual show as you Eastern Time zone folks let me know if the evening's train wreck / spectacle was worth watching).
I enjoy popping in from time to time so hopefully once DWTS starts again you'll find time to add a few choice comments. I was always impressed by the amount of work you devoted to your reviews on the shows that interested you and I still get a chuckle about the reason behind the name of your web site.

Any chance the chat will still be running. If not I'll miss chatting with all my south of the border DWTS pals.

I'll post about the fate of the chat during the day on Monday, Lisa.

On Twitter, @foxyweber is posting live DwtS 10 debut commentary.

Kathy, I want to apologize. When I decided to try writing the reviews every week, I didn't realize how hard school would slam me. It wasn't fair to volunteer, then not follow through.

No worries, Aaron. Recaps/reviews are more time consuming to write than they seem like they should be. Hopefully you'll be able to do more writing in the future, when your schedule allows. You've got the chops.
